Hello everyone,

so today I received my visa in the postal service of Germany, I signed up online to the ELIS and paid the fees, the case status says already optimized, what does that mean? have a look at the attached snip.

04/13/2015 received RFE

05/01/2015 NOA2
05/20/2015 Consulate received petition

05/28/2015 received Packet 3

06/11/2015 sent Packet 3 to Consulate
06/25/2015 received Packet 4 (delay due to technical problems with US visa system)
07/09/2015 Interview - approved

07/28/2015 Visa issued (again delays due to technical problems)

07/29/2015 Visa received, FINALLY!

07/30/2015 Flight to US (POE Newark)

08/04/2015 Marriage

08/06/2015 AOS, EAD and AP petition sent

09/01/2015 Biometrics

I also signed up the same day I received the visa and it instantly said optimized and I have not POE'd as yet. I do know or from following the ELIS forum I've read that production of the actual green card will not be initialized until we pay the fee OR POE, whichever is second

does that mean that the GC is ready and awaiting my arrival or what? lol

That is good news! It means your fee has made it through all the steps, now they are just waiting to generate it and send it out. It will probably show up about 6 weeks after you arrive. The green card is not a big deal because your visa is a temporary green card for up to a year.

Be sure to get to a SSA office as soon as possible after POE to ensure production of your SSN. We followed the rules that said wait three weeks only to be disappointed.

September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal
