Wait time for NOA1

I sent in my I-130 packet a week ago and have yet to hear anything back. Is this normal? I did not use a tracking service; I just sent it through regular mail. How long should I wait before I contact them? I am just seeing some timelines saying that people waited only 2 or 3 days.

You should hear something within another week. From this point forward, however, I would suggest sending everything by certified mail so you can track it. Good luck!

Thanks for the input! I will give it another week before I start to panic too much. Yeah, I didn't have any transportation at the time, and I was just so anxious to send it in. I will be using a tracker for everything in the future though, just for the peace of mind if anything.

I sent our I-130 on June 17, 2015 and heard back by June 23, 2015 the timeline is really on point. I was stressing when the timeline here on the VJ website was stating we should have gotten an update between August 8-11th. Once we didn't hear anything July and August but, finally heard something on September 5, 2015 stating that something I know I pick in the packet of information wasn't there I felt a lot better. So, I resubmitting on September 9, 2015 via certified mail and USCIS in Laguna Niguel, CA got it on September 11, 2015. Good Luck to you guys and I am hoping you will hear something soon.
