Hello Evryone, My fiance had interview on June 16th the officer told her that it was approved and congratulated to her. the system was down and was advised the visa will be ready in a week. 26 days days has been passed and my case status says Administrative processing. I sent email to them yesterday and they told send me below message.

"Your case is still pending for some additional administrative processing. We will contact you as soon as the process is complete. In the meantime, please provide us the below information as soon as possible to proceed further with your application. Thank you. "

(1)Your travel history for the past 15 years. (2)Names,dates&places of your siblings children and former spouses. (3)all address you have lived at during the past 15 years. (4) prior passport numbers (5) prior jobs during 15 years.

why do they need this information now after they approved my case? I sent the information they asked but I don't know if something is going on. do you guys think this will delay my case. even though it already went changed from Ready to AP.?

They had problems with their systems recently, making them unable to do background checks and perform other security checks before issuing; this may have been their way around it? Having persons volunteer the info? Idk maybe someone else knows.

When their systems have problems, they don't get the results of the security checks to reivew before or during your interview. Something has now come up after they could access the results of those checks and they need additional information to make sure you are not the same person as the person for whom they have negative information. Supply the information they asked for so they can see their information is not about you and they can issue the visa.

in the postal letter,

did it outline how to return the information to them ? ie - postal mail reply, email reply, fax reply, dropbox , etc.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

They said send the information via email they outlined in the email. what I am confused about is that, when the Embassy asked me the information I sent to them why are they sending my passport back to us with requesting exact same information does this mean when they requested the information they were already in the process sending the passport. by the way email that always communicate to the embassy and the email they requested to send the information to is different. I am really confused and lost. it has been 4 weeks.

You are in AP and no one can tell you when the background checks are complete.

Everyone's case is different.

Are you from another country residing in Malaysia ?

If you are not Malaysian then it happens that they often are looking deeper.

Perhaps you had a minor inconsistency in your forms, or a previous application ?

They are now verifying your new information and comparing it to what you gave them before.

It may take a few weeks or months, email them every 3 - 4 weeks or so for a status update, otherwise

there is nothing you can do but wait and be patient.

Hi Osman09,

I am relieved to know that I am not alone..guess what, I got the same exact letter from the embassy together with my passport last November. Anyway, how are you doing? Is your status still in AP?. However, my case is a bit different since I am in CR1 category. The sad thing was.. I received blue 221 g letter after the interview due to missing docs. So i did send the docs together with my passport. Later the embassy returned them with that letter. So, it was like double disappointment there. It's been 4 weeks after I submitted all the infos that they requested and still no reply yet. I guess I just have to be patient. :)
