So while filling out the I-129F, my fiancé and I saw the boxes asking for an A-Number. I did some research and learned that the A-Number is found on a green card. The problem with that is that I can't get my green card until after I've gotten married, which is the whole purpose for my fiancé and I filing for a K-1 visa. How are we supposed to provide an A-Number if it's on the thing that we're filling out the I-129F for?

WE LEFT IT BLANK. you will be the A-Number once your petition is approved ( when you get your NOA2).

11/9/2015 sent AOS/EAD/AP application to Chicago Lockbox

11/15/2015 received a text message of receipt of application

11/18/2015 received written notification for the 3 applications

11/24/2015 received a notice of biometric appoint on 12/8/2015

12/8/2015 did the biometrics

1/16/2016 case update: "card production was ordered on 1/16/2015

1/19/2016 case update: case was approved

1/21/2016 case update: card was mailed

1/23/2016 received welcom letter :)

This is a multi use form. Since you are just filing. You will not have one. Leave that item blank. When you get your NOA 1 for this form it will list the A-number that will be used through out the process.

Don't sweat it. The people that make the Form 129F are the same people that make the regulations. You will get your Alien registration number soon enough. Think about it, the forms have to be somewhat generic in order for many differently situated folks to be able to use the same form.

BTW, per form instructions, if the item in non-applicable, or the answer is none, leave the space blank.
