That they still have the case at NVC (didn't sent to the Embassy yet) and it probably mean about the instructions that they "mailed" to you. Idk if they send it by email or hardcopy. I got my case number today, so as far as I been reading and seeing in different pages, that's what I understand.

You're lucky!

Our case number didn't even show up into the system until July 4th (Case number around June 26), but it's already in transit, I'm just waiting for the READY to show on it. Not everyone even gets the "At NVC" status, but it simply means that it's currently at the NVC and luckily for you, they've put it in the system.

Whenever it ships out, it should change to "In Transit" and then when your consulates recieved it, it should change to "Ready".

yeah I just saw ya'll are TSC. At least it's done and on the next steps!

For Montreal specifically, the plan should be that it'll say AT NVC, then IN TRANSIT, then READY. When it says READY you or your fiance (which ever one is the canadian) can either wait for Packet 3 to come in the mail, or go ahead and e-mail Montreal and confirm that they have it and it's in their system (according to recent threads here, they only accept e-mails at montreal for K1.). Once they have it in their system (Again, either confirmed by recieving Packet 3 in the mail or checking with the consulate via E-mail), you can go ahead and e-mail them back the info for packet 3. SOME people do NOT get packet 3 in the mail, so it's important to make sure you keep an eye on how much time has passed and be patient but reasonable.

After you e-mail them packet 3 back, you SHOULD get packet 4 and that will allow you to schedule medical and the interview! After that it's best wishes and congrats on your future marriage!

For reference: Packet 3: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/Packet3-K1-MTL.pdf

Packet 4: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/Packet4-MTL.pdf

For packet 4: make sure to use the K-1 Visa checklist, not the immigrant visa checklist.

Good luck and best wishes on your journey! It's possible your fiance/you will be having your/their interview around the same time as my fiance!
