Will they return to me my original documents?

Hi guys

I see in state government website that all interviewees are required to bring an original or certified true copy of documents along with a photocopy.
I was wondering if the original documents like my Bachelor degree will be returned to me after it was collected at the time of interview?
Because they won't, I'll have to get a certified true copy so I won't lose the original. But by reading few forums here, it seems like they'll just need the original for checking to make sure that the photocopy we brought is like the original. Am I right?
Thanks in advance :).

Bring originals for the CO to inspect along with photocopies to submit.

Yes - they will check the originals against the copies you bring and return the originals.

In our interview they kept the original of the police certificates however. Not sure if all consulates do that. But all of our "own" documents like education, birth and marriage certificates etc were returned.
