Affidavit of support questions

So I am at the point where i need to fill out the affidavit of support and i am extremely confused about it. The instructions are vague as any government document so i'd like to know how it is really supposed to get filled out from people who have done it. Besides filling out the form, what other documents do i need to include to make sure i have everything correct? Also i will need a co-sponsor. Does the co-sponsor need to fill the same exact form? What documents will the co-sponsor need to include along with the form? Who do i send the completed form to? The support form will be reviewed by the ho chi minh embassy since my fiance is from there.

Okay both you and your co-sponsor will need to fill the same form. You will need to send in an IRS Transcript from the past 3 years that you filed taxes. If you or your co-sponsor is self employed, you will need to send in the copy of the entire tax return from the past year(s). You both need to send in a document showing proof of US citizenship (birth certificate, passport, etc.). You both also will need a copy of your W4s for the past three years. Also, you should submit paystubs from past several months, and a letter from your job stating your position and salary.

If you are including assets, you will have to include proof of those. If you are including home as an asset, you will need to have an appraisel done on your house (unless you have had one done recently) and include a document from the financial institution showing how much mortgage you have left on your home. If you are including vehicles, you have to have atleast one car that works before they will consider any others. You have to create a document including: car make, model, color, value, date of purchase/acquirement, and any other details of the car. Use Kelly Blue Book online to reference the value (if you do this, make sure you include everything word-for-word that you include on KBB); you also would have to show the title of ownership for the vehicles.

This is coming from someone who has had to submit this stuff to the New Delhi embassy and to USCIS for AOS from K3 to perm. resident. We have had no problems, except for the RFE for the AOS, in which we then submitted proof of assets, which they accepted.

The form they are requesting is I-134. I'm sorry for not clarifying that. Does the co-sponsor need to send an IRS transcript too?

Yes. Tax return or transcript, transcripts are best.

This is just bizarre..my green card interview was scheduled for July 28th 2015, and I just got another letter saying due to unforeseeable circumstances interview for that date is cancelled. And you will receive some update soon.

Has this thing happened to anyone?

You really need to do your research in the Vietnam regional forum as HCMC is not as easy with joint sponsors for the K visa petition.

Both, transcript and W2's.

Item 3 = your fiance, not you.

If any children are following to join then you enter them, if not then you don't.

Item 7 , yes whatever applies to your financial situation ( same for joint sponsor ).

Read carefully over this example form and then adjust it to the joint sponsor, do you or your joint sponsor have any dependents they support ?

If yes fill them in, if not leave blank.

Item 11 do what it says in the example form, don't check but use same line as listed in the example.

Thank you so much! Does the co-sponsor need to provide a note from the bank showing the balance in the account and deposits over a period of time?

Your joint sponsor would need an employment letter ( enter in VJ search for example letter in threads ).

As to the bank letter, that is embassy specific, ask in your regional forum.
