Hi, guys!

After an1 hour interview at Saint Louis office of 12/21/2015 I received a leter that "decision cannot be made". No RFE received until on January 20 I got my Oath letter for 02/17/2016.

I just finished my interview this morning in Houston office. My scheduled time was at 10:10 am, and I was called 30 mins later. Started with the civics test first, then went through my N400. Everything went fine, except for the 9 months duration I was outside the United States.

Question:

If the President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

Who is the Commander i Chief if the military?

What are the two major political parties in the United States?

What is the political party of the President now?

Writing: Congress meets in Washington.

I can only remember these....

I passed the English test, but the decision could not been made yet, due to my 9-months abroad. I have provided the case officer with my IRS tax return transcripts, my earning statements for that period(I still worked for my employer while I was outside the Country to keep ties), as well as my HSA account. I hope these information /documents I provided is enough, and will make me pass the review.

(I was so depressed that I didn't hear "Congratulations" from the officer at the end of the interview........) Hope I can get the decision mail asap......

Hello everyone,

I filed my N400 and it was received on June 9, 2015 in Texas. Till date, I have not received any update and neither the status has changed online (https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do).

Need some advise.

If you've done your biometrics you might be stuck in a background check. You need to follow up with USCIS because it's been a very long time. Start with a Case Inquiry online then try setting up an appointment and asking in person.

If you haven't received your biometrics notice, then something's wrong... it may have been lost in the mail... same advice as above.

Does anyone prepare bank account statement for the past 5 years during the interview? I am thinking to ask an officer in the bank to print all of them out for me, but I'm afraid they will want to kill me......

I've never heard that IO would ask about your 5 years bank statement. USCIS usually asks about your taxes BUT NOT about your bank transactions.

12/26/2017 (Tuesday) NOA-1 (I-797C) was received.

06/07/2018 (Thursday) NOA-2 was APPROVED. 172 days.

06/11/2018 (Monday) NOA-2 was delivered by USPS to my home address.

06/22/2018 (Friday) Our case was sent to the U.S. Department of State (DOS) for visa processing (NVC)

I just had my citizenship interview today in Detroit. The Citizenship was based of three years rule. It was a very horrible one. The USCIS officer interviewed me for an hour and she was going through all my paper work from my conditional green cared application to removal of conditions. I only had two traffic ticket since i have been driving and they are not alcohol related and i was never detained or ever arrested, The ticket were paid on time and it was way under 500. I passed the civic test and she gave me a paper saying I passed the civic test but she can not approve my application and that she will have to review it. I am so confused and frustrated don't know why mine has to be different. Everyone who was there got approved and got their oath letter today. Please any suggestion why mine is like this? less i forget, i gave her the receipts of my paid ticket and also everything possible to proof Bonafide marriage,

I don't know the details of your case or why the interview took an hour or why you waited so long to be interviewed (maybe just a prolonged background check might answer the last question).

But lots of people are told that their application needs to be reviewed before approval. This is pretty normal. If nothing strange happened in the interview and there's nothing wrong with your application, then you should get your approval soon. Sometimes this takes a few days, but it could take a few weeks.

Even applications that are recommended for approval have to be reviewed by a supervisor.

Usually if you are told that a decision cannot be made, it means one of three things (just my guess here):

- there's something wrong with your case (this would have been obvious during the interview)

or

- the interviewer didn't review your file before you showed up and has to look through it in detail before recommending approval

or

- you submitted lots of new evidence at the interview that needs to be reviewed.

Based on posts on VJ, I think the second of these is very common, so don't worry too much just yet. Good luck to you.

Thank you for your swift reply. There is nothing on usual with my interview. She was just taking time to review all my documents. The civic test went well and also just asked few questions. The only problem was the ticket from accident which i never mentioned but i told her during the interview that the instruction said anything not alcohol related and less than 500 should not be reported. So i have the receipt of payment which i gave to her and she made copies of it and corrected my application. I feel like nobody is perfect and everybody get into accident which i was involved in and my ticket where paid on time with proof of receipt from the court which i gave her. Do you think she will deny my application based on that?
