Hi everyone,

My fiance's interview at the U.S. Interests Section in Havana is currently set for July 30. I am considering making it a later date, because due to the embargo it is going to take at least 4-6 weeks to mail him all the necessary documents and evidence for the interview. However, our petition will expire August 9. My question is: Can he bring the letter requesting an extension of the approval of the I-129F to his interview with him if it is after August 9? Or should I mail the letter directly to the U.S. Interests Section? Because even if I mail it tomorrow, there is a possibility that the letter will not arrive in time. Please help me!

They can automatically extend them, but I would go ahead and email them and ask about getting the extension to make sure.

are you sure it takes 4-6 weeks to mail something? I went to the post office the other day asking if they mailed documents to cuba they said yes. Just regular mail not even fed ex or ups. I know DHL mails to cuba and heard that can take 2-3 weeks.

It is very confusing, I keep hearing different answers. From what I have heard, U.S. Postal Service does deliver mail to Cuba, but it requires 4-6 weeks. I have heard of it taking even longer sometimes. I thought that DHL mails to Cuba, but when I tried to proceed with mailing the package, DHL told me that due to the embargo they cannot send anything from the U.S. to Cuba. Fortunately, one of my friends is visiting Havana next week, so she is delivering the package for me in person.
