Question about social security number

i just received my social security number. my question is they mistakenly put a wrong middle initial in my card,i said to them at stated them clearly what should be written in the card but got the wrong middle initial written, can i apply already my I-485 because i already have the ss number even with wrong middle initial?Or should i coorect my initial before applying and wait again for that to be changed?

You don't need a SSN to file the 485, so I don't know if it will matter at this point. You will need to correct the error at some point, but it might be easier when you get your GC or EAD/AP. however, if you still have validity on your Current visa (I94) and want to get a state ID or driver's license, you may need to correct it sooner. Keep in mind you must have at least 2 weeks validity on whatever visa you are here on to get anything done at the SSA. All of it is a pain for such a simple error.

ssn not required when filing the I-485.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
