Possible Visa Services Interruption

24 June, 2015

The Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs is currently experiencing technical problems with its visa systems. This issue is not specific to any particular country or visa category. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Systems issues that have affected the Department of State’s ability to issue visas are gradually being resolved. Applicants should check this appointment page (https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-mx/niv) for availability of appointments at U.S. consulates in Mexico. Applicants who have already attended their appointment may experience some delay in receiving their visa.

If you need to reschedule an appointment you can follow the instructions located on https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-mx/niv. Unless instructed otherwise, all individuals should plan to attend their scheduled visa interview appointments. Those with urgent travel should follow the instructions for expedited emergency appointment found on http://mexico.usembassy.gov/visas/non-immigrant-visas/emergency-appointments.html.

And directly on the consulate site> http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/immigrant_visas.html

These systems issues are also impacting processing of U.S. visas. We are currently unable to print most immigrant and nonimmigrant visas approved after June 8, 2015. In addition, U.S. Embassies/Consulates are currently unable to process new applications submitted on or after June 9, 2015. Nonimmigrant visa applicants with interview appointments scheduled for this week, June 14-20, are asked to reschedule if they submitted a DS-160 online application after June 9, 2015. Appointments can be rescheduled by following the instructions located on https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-mx/niv. Nonimmigrants visa applications who submitted their DS-160 online application prior to June 9, 2015, should plan to attend their scheduled appointment.

1.703.249.4628. This number worked for the embassy from the United States. I just got off the phone with them and everything is as planned when we filed. So this phone number is working.

Thanks or the info. Just updated the consulate info page here on VJ to reflect the current numbers to call. http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Mexico&cty=Juarez
