Hillary tells voters who want her to apologize over her 2002 vote authorizing military action to look to other candidates

One of the most important decisions that Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton made about her bid for the presidency came late last year when she ended a debate in her camp over whether she should repudiate her 2002 vote authorizing military action in Iraq.

[...]

Mrs. Clinton ... never wanted to apologize ... arguing that an apology would be a gimmick.

[...]

Yet antiwar anger has festered, and yesterday morning Mrs. Clinton rolled out a new response to those demanding contrition: She said she was willing to lose support from voters rather than make an apology she did not believe in.

“If the most important thing to any of you is choosing someone who did not cast that vote or has said his vote was a mistake, then there are others to choose from,” Mrs. Clinton told an audience in Dover, N.H.

Jezebel incarnate . I'm waiting for her to put on lipstick and fall from a balcony.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Personally, I like Hillary and as long as she doesn't do something really stupid between now and the election, she's probably getting my vote. Most of these politicians are liars anyway, when I look at most of them-->she is the lesser of the 'evils', if you will.

Nader, Obama, Edwards and the others who may run will only serve to split the democratic votes AGAIN and we may be in an even bigger mess than we are in right now.....want 8 more years of hell?

Her husband taught her well.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Indeed. If she were to win the Dem nomination (I still think she can't, I don't believe the netroots hype for a minute) she will destroy the GOP candidate who stands in her way.

If you mean destroy by slander your right. If you mean destroy by winning I disagree. If the GOP finds someone with a minimum of skeletons in his closet Clinton will loose.

Clintons position is whatever she thinks will get her elected.

I find a lot of modern democrats behave like that. They seem to back the "noble cause" of the month..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I know that I am going to get flamed here but what else is new. :P

This is the main reason I tend to vote republican, not because I always agree with them but because of how most (not all of course) find their position on things.

Whether you agree/disagree, love/hate Bush and the republicans that are standing with him they have made their position from their own core values. They find what they believe in and stick with it. They win or lose by how many Americans agree with them.

The dems on the other hand always seem to be catering to all the various groups. The pander to the black vote, hispanic vote, the womens vote, the anti war vote, the pro illegal vote ect.ect.ect ad nausium. They don't have a set of their own values but it changes as they see the public opinions change. It's phoney and dishonest. Clinton is the biggest offender of them all. There are a few libs that do have a set of core values and stick with them. I don't agree with them but I do respect them. The others are not worth the powder to blow them to he!!.

This just converted my mom to Obama.

eta: I was already in the Obama camp

The last thing we need, IMO, is another president that can't admit their own mistakes. The last 6 years have been torturous enough.
