Hi all,

My K1 visa was approved at the London embassy on 29th May. I told the embassy when asked that my planned date of travel is 1st July.

I haven't heard back from the embassy or courier to say that my passport and other documents are ready for collection. I'm getting a little worried as it's been 2 weeks since my interview and approval. Does anyone know how long the passport processing and other paperwork usually takes?

Thanks

Have you checked the CEAC status website?

http://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

What does it say about your current status?

Hmm...

So the Embassy website says:

You have attend a visa interview and your application is being processed.

Action Required:

You are required to wait until the status changes to "issued". Click on the "Issued" message for further information.

It was updated two days ago which means they ARE working on it...

I don't think it would be unreasonable for you to send them a message through the website. They've been very helpful when I contacted them.

More experienced heads than mine might say wait a bit longer...but I can't see the harm in sending a query.

Hi - I have the same situation, even though Im in Germany and dealing with the Frankfurt embassy. After emailing back and forth and not getting any information on why they have not sent my approved visa yet (interview June 2nd, said it would take 7 days until Id receive it), they emailed me this today:

The Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs is currently experiencing technical problems with our overseas passport and visa systems. This issue is not specific to any particular country, citizenship document, or visa category.

Sincerely,

U.S. Consulate General (IV)

Consular Information Unit / km

As they say that it is not specific to a particular country, your case might be affected as well.

I am very upset at the moment as their email does not say anything in specific in regards to when I/we could expect anything to happen with our case.

NOA 1: 08/26/2014

NOA 2: 03/23/2014 --> 7 months wait (Texas Service Center)

Does anyone know how I can speak to a person at the embassy on the phone or in person, as they are not responding to my enquiries using the online contact form?

You may try calling Dos. It is US numbers however I can't remember them on top of my head.

I was worried too as my status was on ap just right after that interview for 10 days

On top of that I am a foreign citizen based in the UK, so it wasn't a good start considering they put many people on AP, especially those from MENA countries.

I sent them an email on the 11th and on the 12th I received an email from courier with a tracking number. Try sending them an email second time.
