Advance Parole Question

Trying to get clarity on the I-131. You can file and travel even if you do not have a specific date of travel. But it can only be used for emergency situations and not leisure travel, correct?

On the I-485 - You cannot travel outside of USA if you do not have green card in hand, unless the advance parole is issued?

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.
Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

If you are filing for AP with Adjustment of Status, then it isn't date specific and you can travel and use it as reentry for normal travel.

If AP is needed before it is in hand or filed for thru AOS, I think you can get a infopass and apply in person for emergency travel.

Is it a one time deal thatcwill require another application or does it have multiple entry with it? Really wanting to take,my future wife on a cruise in the carribean on day or to Canada, bug don't have a specific date in mind. Don't have to worry until after August though...

Check out CLosed Loop Cruise - It basically like not leaving the USA.

For her going into Canada/Mexico by land I would think she would might need a visa since she will only have a Philippines Passport.

When I answered I assumed you wanted to return to the Phil which would be no problem with a TD. But, like Vol states there is whole another set of rules that you must meet to travel to Canada and Mexico and they quite possibly include visa's.

A little more home work is required on your part to see how and what is required from both Canada and Mexico for a person with a GC.

Thanks :) Yes definitely return to Philippines if needed. But certainly to travel if needed as well. Will certainly study for sure.

Correct. You file the I-131, do not put in a specific date (not needed) and you can use it for travel outside the USA. I will that the CBP agents haven't seen many so expect delays on entering the USA again. ;)

So I am still trying to figure out if the Advance parole is a one time use only AP. Meaning that once you use it, you have to reapply again for a different trip. Or can you use multiple times without reapplying for AP? Sorry in advance for asking this question again....

Its a many use doc. Don't get carried away with it as it could throw up red flags at immigration when reentering.
