Biometrics? Mexico City vs. Ciudad Juarez

Hello--

My husband's interview is set for June 18th. There was nothing in the interview letter about having to do biometrics. He scheduled his medical exam in Mexico City for June 15th, but we are unsure if he needs to set another appointment for biometrics? Anyone had any experience with this, or can point us in the right direction?

Yes, all interviews for immigrant/non-immigrant visas for CR-1/IR-1, and K-1, are being routed over to the consulate in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Biometrics is a different story since one can choose an ASC location closer to home, but if opting to have a Biometrics appointment in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Hermosillo, Tijuana, Monterrey, etc. just schedule it 1 week prior to the interview in Juarez and all will go well.

I was in Ciudad Juarez about 8 years ago, and right after the interview I waited for sometime at the American Embassy at Ciudad Juarez for my immigrant visa, I think now they send it by DHL, so I guess everything changed now, good luck in your process

Starting November 3, 2014, most Immigrant Visas currently processed at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City will be transferred to the U.S. Consulate General in Ciudad Juarez. The last day of operations for the Immigrant Visa section at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City is October 17, 2014.

Effective immediately, all Immigrant Visa applicants residing in Mexico City and Estado de Mexico should visit the Panel Physician clinic located in Mexico City for their medical examinations prior to their Immigrant Visa appointment in Ciudad Juarez.

Yeah, the process has changed from the past. The package containing all documents, passport, etc. is delivered via DHL to a branch location of choice within Mexico. We selected the DHL location in Juarez (Lopez Mateos) since we planned on entering the US from El Paso. Thankfully so, all went as planned.
