My poor mom broke her ankle back in England. I want to send her some flowers, but you know how the rate of exchange makes it very expensive at the moment! Does anyone know a decent flower delivery website where they don't charge extorcionate prices?

i think anything you order will wind up costing you a ton of money... floral wiring services will charge a hefty fee for connecting your order to a florist internationally...

i sent my husband some flowers when he was still in holland... i did an online search for a florist in his neighborhood, called them up and placed an order... i wound up wiring money to their account to pay for it

good luck with it and hope your mom feels better soon

You could find a local florist where she lives, and order directly through them.

That's probably your best bet. Going through a "middleman" like 1800Flowers or FTD means things cost more. That's not always bad, as sometimes they're more reliable, but if you're looking to cut down on the price, then checking out a florist in England would be the ticket.

Also I have used http://www.beverlyhillsbakery.com/ to send wonder baskets filled with goodies. Flowers will die soon but if u send her assorted baskets of cookies and brownies she could enjoy it more. My hubbyloves this and the service is great they are located in england. "Established over ten years ago in Knightsbridge and now based in Primrose Hill, London, the Beverly Hills Bakery offers a truly unique gift delivery service. Our baskets and tins, filled with freshly baked home-made muffins, cookies and brownies, are the perfect gift for every occasion.

Remember us and your friends will remember you."

Google florists near your mom and call them direct  I agree with the consensus here.

And you can charge it on your cc.

I just wanted to add that I agree with this post and the other one a few posts above that mention doing the same. I have sent my wife flowers , on several occasions over while she is in Turkey. I just did a Google search as the others have said.......typed in something like "flower delivery Istanbul"......and I found several local stores that do delivery. There are 2 of them that I use, and they are very dependable.

I would imagine you could do the same, and just search for florists in the country/area that your mom lives in.

yes, call a local florist.

same thing here, sent flowers to my fiancé in chicago, called a florist in his job area and paid over the phone by credit card. Was really cheap, beautiful fresh flowers delivered the same day!
