Hello! not to be personal or anything...but, does the petitioner meet the income required (i believe 125% of poverty level) to support both people? if so, then you don't even have to fill out any of that extra stuff. those lines are basically only for people who don't meet the income requirements, and have to prove that they have money in assets etc as means of support. hope this helps! :)

hhaha if posting on a forum, guess it's no longer that personal huh :P

Yes he definitely meets the income requirement (above 125% poverty level). I wasn't sure if anyone had success going through the interview stage with just putting this line in? I'm overly paranoid about making sure everything is fine! :P

Thanks for your advice!

Just got our NOA2, so time to move over to this thread. Any advice is greatly appreciated. My fiancée is going to wait a few weeks to ring NVC, we are going to start getting paperwork together for interview. Just a quick question, Do letters from banks, employers etc from the petitioner need to be dated within a few months of interview? My fiancée is visiting me in Ireland in 3 weeks and it woukd be handy if she could bring all the paperwork with her, even though we may not have interview till late Sept in Dublin

Grats on your NOA2! I think she should be fine if her documents are dated a few months before hand. I wasn't sure how long it would take to get my letters so mine are a few months in advance as well.

Hi all!

Just wondering if you guys could help us with the I-134 form especially question 7.

We're filling in the employment and we have his salary and letter for employer.

Regarding the other lines: 1) Do we need to fill in all of them? I'm guessing better to be accurate and fill more than less?

2) for deposits: Do they want just savings account, checking accounts or just a summary of all the balances including credit card balances?

3) personal property: how do we calculate that?

4) Stocks and bonds? Is that the 401K (the retirement fund)? We don't think so but just wanted to check?

5) Life insurance- we have life insurance but it doesn't have any cash surrender value. What should we put for this?

6) Real estate. Value of estate: is that the current market value and is it ok to use a web calculator such as zillow.com or chase bank to get the market value?

Thanks for all your help!

I would fill this out as best as you can for what pertains to you.

2) Just what you have in any savings accounts.

3) Personal property: this would be anything that you personally own that is of value. Like cars, electronics, major appliances, tools/hardware, jewelry etc. Basically anything that you could turn around and sell for money.

4) Stocks and Bond: You are correct separate from your 401k or retirement

5) Life Insurance Your cash surrender value would be $0

6) Real estate I'm not entirely sure but I would also think that it would be current market value and a web calculator should suffice as an estimate.

You'd be surprised at what some people on this site might get offended by. Some might take offense to basically being asked "heyyy how much money does your fiance make per year?" i was just trying to avoid any of that. anyway...good luck

Hey everyone, hope the process is moving along quickly for you all. All I have left before the interview is the I-134, but I'm having trouble with some of the questions. I posted this as its own topic but got no replies, so I'm posting here in case anyone knows.

A family member who owns a company will be co-sponsoring me. For questions 9 and 10 (previous affidavits of support and previous visa petitions), he told me he has not personally sponsored or submitted a visa petition for anyone, but he has done so for employees on a work visa under the name of his company, so he's not sure what to say. Should he list the employees his company brought in on a work visa, or just say "none" since he has not personally sponsored or submitted a visa petition for anyone?

That's a tricky one! I'm not sure what the correct protocol would be for that one. I would think that if his name was not specifically linked to anyone sponsored by his company then to just say "none". Unless his name was listed alongside the company's name on the work visas issued for employees. If his name is linked then I would add a continuation sheet explaining just as you did, that he has not sponsored anyone on a personal level but has sponsored numerous employees work visas with his company.

(If needed, this is from the instructions for the I-134)

2. If extra space is needed to complete any item, attach a continuation sheet, indicate the item number, and date and sign each sheet.

Totally missed that on the instructions. A continuation sheet sounds like exactly what we need. Thank you so much!

Hello everyone...could anyone tell me if the petitioner also has to fill out a I-134 (affadavit of support) form, even though we have a co-spnsor. I believe I read someone that the petitioner also has to submit the I-134 + W2 since the petitioner remains the main sponsor?! Is that correct.

Thanks so much in advance :)

Yaaaay...

It's been 4 weeks since we got our NOA2 now and unfortunately my fiancé wasn't able to call NVC.

So yesterday I figured I could just send an e-mail to the embassy here and ask them if they already received our documents and if they could tell me the case number...

Today I got an e-mail back saying that they received the electronical file June 25th but not yet the physical file.

At first I was a little sad that they didn't tell me the case number but then I saw that they added it to the subject title :D

Of course I checked the status online and it says READY!

Is that the "first status" you see once you got your case number? :)
