Vermont and California Service Centers are very fast. How come?

I was reviewing member profiles of people with nearby dates as mine and same beneficiary country and it seems that everyone who was lucky enough to have been sent to Vermont Service Center and California Service Centers around the same time as I filed our petition is close to having their interview already. Esp Vermont. So why is that the case? What do you have to do to merit assignment to Vermont Service Center as opposed to Nebraska? NSC it seems is the slowest of the service centers. Why did we get assigned there? I'm seeing people with NOA-2 dates that took something like 15-20 days from NOA-1 in Vermont and California. Whereas almost all the people assigned to Nebraska Service Center are having to wait on average about 5 months to get their NOA-2.

I need to understand what is going on here and what am I doing wrong? Are the VSC and CSC people simply luckier then us?

~~moved to USCIS service centers from IR1/CR1 process and procedures~~

A lot of IR1 who are sent to CSC and VSC are people who are residing together abroad and thus are unofficially auto-expedited.

they handle premium processing?

There is not premium processing for I-130s for a spouse or child. you cannot pay extra to speed up the process.

Filed: IR-5 Country: South Africa
Timeline

It goes by the state you live in and the lockbox where you sent the application.

But can someone help me here...My parents I-130 was sent in April and we receive NOA1 on May 1st. My father who's in south africa sent me a text early this morning super excited that he checked the status on uscis website and it said "case was approved may 14, 2015" by the time I woke up and saw it and called him to confirm he checked again and status changed again and now it's saying "we received your case May 1st" what the heck! I went from being super excited to being bummed in a matter of 5 minutes. Has this happened to anyone? Their service center is California

Its better to ask your questions in your own thread. It could be he wrote the number in wrong?
