It's correct you need some tea money to get things done. Otherwise you will never have it. You will not be allowed to interview with missing documents at this Embassy. They check all your documents the day of the interview right before actual interview. They only interview once all necessary documents are in hand. They will cancel your interview and you have to reschedule which could be months away. Go to the Police station where they process it and give some tea money. I think it's near riverside best as I can remember from 4 years ago.

Hello, we had to the PC last December and we are not Khmer speakers. The lady in the office where the computers are located helped us and we did not pay a bribe. Her desk is just to the left as you enter the office. It is not the room where you pay but the room just past the desk where you obtain your forms. She even supplied translated copies.. M

Sorry for late reply. Yes they will cancel interview. It happened to me. Back in 2011 my wife had interview as my Fiance. We had all the documents. Right before interview they take all your documents and a lady pre-check if all the documents are in hand and give approval or go ahead for next step which is the actual interview. One of the documents wasn't translated correctly. It was her birth certificate. We had the original and a translated one but translated one had an error or something. So the lady said they cannot interview her and reschedule later and they will let us know which could be like months away. I begged the lady I just flew 8000 miles what can we do? She said we have to wait until all interviews are over and they will see if any time slot available next day and if we can get corrected one next day they may be able to reschedule next day. So we waited like 4 hours, witnessed all the interviews then they told us to come back next day with correct translated copy. Which we did but my wife was denied visa anyway. That's another story and another long visajourney that ended in October of 2013. That day we walked out of US Embassy with approval after a long hard battle. So as you can see from my experience, you will run into trouble if you are missing any required documents

Yes I know I experienced it for almost 4 years! I am not Cambodian but I am originally from that part of the world so I am familiar with that. Even immigration and customs want tea money. One guy at immigration right before I was leaving country asked for tea money. He said since I am taking his fellow country sister as my wife, I should give him some tea money. I pretended I did not understand what he was talking about.
