UK Police Certificate wait time

Please advice what was your wait time, website says 10 business days

My fiance lived in UK and filed for police certificate 8 days ago, interview is scheduled for May 26th so hopefully will come on time

1/10/15- Petition send by USPS

1/13/15- Received by USCIS

1/15/15- Notice date

1/24/15- Received hard copy NOA1 in mail

2/18/15- APPROVED - text message 9:30pm

2/24/15- NOA2 - received in mail

3/5/15 - Case # assigned by NVC

3/9/15 - In transit to embassy

3/11/15 - Embassy in Warsaw received papers, status changed to ready

3/31/15 - Medicals booked for 4/16/15

4/26/15 - Interview booked for 5/26/15

5/26/15- :dancing::dancing::dancing: VISA APPROVED!!!

08/24/15- Enter to USA

09/12/15- Married

10/06/15- AOS- send

10/07/15- packet received at USCIS Chicago lock box

10/14/15- NOA1 - text, email received this morning

10/29/15- received text RFE on the way :(

11/3/15 - RFE received in the mail

11/4/15 - response to RFE send

11/17/15- received text - mail returned by post office on form I-765 and I-485

12/1/15- AP approved- 56 days - text/email received

12/1/15- EAD approved- 56 days - text/email received

12/5/15 - AP/EAD approval notice received in the mail

12/7/15 - Finally receive appointment letter for biometrics 12/22/15

12/8/15 - Did walk in biometrics

12/8/15 - AP/EAD card ordered

12/14/15- EAD/AP Card received in the mail

2/10/16- AOS- card ordered :dancing:

2/16/16- GC was mailed

2/19/16- Green Card received!!!

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I'm not sure anybody here in the UK forum had one sent to Poland, so you may not get a decent answer. They are fast getting them issued, but mailing to Poland is the unknown.

Well you can see how long it took them to issue mine in my signature, however seeing as how your fiances will be sent overseas it may take longer. However I would imagine even with international post in the mix it should get there before the 26th.

Married to my amazing wife in August 2012


Lived in UK for two years on a spouse visa then decided due to varying factors to try make a go of it in the USA.


  • I-130/CR-1 visa by Direct Consular Filing in London:
  • 20/03/2015 - Despatched I-130
  • 23/03/2015 - Delivery confirmed via Royalmail tracking
  • 26/03/2015 - Payment taken from UK Credit Card, NOA1 dated 26/03
  • 20/04/2015 - Applied for ACRO Police Certificate online
  • 02/05/2015 - Received Police Certificate in the mail
  • 23/05/2015 - Received RFE
  • 10/06/2015 - Evidence despatched
  • 11/06/2015 - Delivery confirmed via Royalmail tracking
  • 16/06/2015 - Notification of Acceptance received NOA2 dated 15/06/2015

Check my signature for how long it took to get mine after applying for it online. It takes approx 10 days if it is sent to a UK address. It may take another couple of days or so to get to Poland, though much depends also how good the Polish postal service is. I know that when I send cards to my friends in Germany they often get it in 2 - 3 days, so probably about the same for Poland.

I'm not sure anybody here in the UK forum had one sent to Poland, so you may not get a decent answer. They are fast getting them issued, but mailing to Poland is the unknown.

Hi Nich-Nick,

Can I obtain a police clearance certificate from any local authority or is there a specific place I need to collect the certificate for my K1 visa and is now a good time as I also need to SAR too.

No to local authority. One stop shopping at this website https://www.acro.police.uk/police_certificates.aspx

It is valid for 12 months

Actually it will be send to address in UK so looking at time yours was issued it should arrive in few days
