06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Haha, I was going to post this info now, I talked to them this morning.

Also, if you call when they first open and the secretary tells you to call a different number between 11am-1pm German time, dont listen. Try again in an hour or so. Chris had no problem, the doctor was right there to answer his questions, was very helpful and polite, and had no idea why the secretary told me anything else.

Verenaaa did you complete the medical already?

If so, did you wait until you were instructed to do so?

Our petition is currently still at the NVC but I want to make sure I get everything done asap so that we don't have to waste our time doing things that could have been done in advance...

Hi there :)

No, I have not completed it yet - I will go this Thursday to Frankfurt to get it done.

Once Frankfurt received your approved petition from NVC, they will send you a letter (package 3) advising you what documents to send back to them. In that letter they also mention the medical.

Once you receive that mail, go ahead and get the medical done. I would not do it any earlier, as the Xrays that are taken are only valid for 6 months from the day they were taken.

Hope that helps!

Germanese,

don't wait until you're instructed. Seriously, they say that on their checklist, but only when I wrote an e-mail to the consulate they told me to go ahead and do the medical.

And that was well after I scheduled the interview!

Confusing.

Just don't do it too early, since the period between medical and interview shortens the validity of your visa.

Hello everyone!

I'm a little confused about the MMR shots...

according to the website Verenaaa posted, you are supposed to have a MMR shot done no longer than 4 weeks before the medical..is that true?

As far as I know, you only get those shots done in early childhood stage. I checked my vacc record, and there are only 2 times where i got the MMR done. ( that was 21 years ago).

There aren't even anymore lines below for any upgrades concerning the MMR shot.

Does anyone have the same issue? Are you still supposed to get an upgrade?

Met in person: September 2013

Started dating: November 2014

Proposal: February 2015 (L)

Sent I-129F: March 2015 :luv:

NOA1 Date: 04/03/15 :dancing:

NOA2 Date: 08/10/15

Package 3 received: 09/16/15

Package 3 sent back: 09/21/15

Medical completed: 09/22/15

Package 4....?

Interview....? :clock:

MMR is sometimes recommended to be refreshed every 10 years. I wish I 'd seen the website earlier. I'm actually on my way to the medical in HH without everything refreshed. Sigh

How did your medical go?

I had an experience at UTEP student health center where they would not treat me before I got an MMR shot. That was 1994, and my last MMR shot had been 1981. They insisted on the 10-year rule. Maybe in the meantime this is not the case anymore.

Anyway, I decided to just get all the shots on the list even if they are not required by the medical, so as not to run into problems during AOS.
