No. Truth be told, I don't like rice. But that still doesn't excuse the events as I imagined them.

Koreatown in LA is now being infiltrated by white people. When my beloved Mr U and I drive through his neighbourhood, we point out all the hipsters who are now roaming the streets in packs. It's terrifying to see so many white people together, wearing too-tight high-waisted trousers and ironic T-shirts, and threatening the traditional way of life there. We're scared they're going to find our favourite KBBQ joint and then it really will be game over.

Considering the source of the OP, I'm apt to think John is being sarcastic. I might be wrong. But then again, I'm not willing to take any author seriously that write a book called Don't Make the Black Kids Angry.

Having said though, why is it that some entertain the notion kids should be treated as morons and presumed unable to make sense when presented with logic?

Exactly. I am always amazed how people deflect and jump to a pretend argument where it is easy to make stupid one line comments because they can't make a tough call on an actual case that runs contrary to their belief system.

A three year old was traumatized and like all humans she took attributes of those who did the traumatizing and her mind made connections.. The judge could have addressed this and spent five minutes reaching out to her and been a positive force of change in her life. He chose to do the exact opposite and reinforced those feelings instead. This little girl will most likely do what a lot of people do that have little contact with people outside her race and have a negative experience: Act and say as society expects while internally believing something else.

Having said that the original article is embarrassing. Why are we quoting Seattle public school definitions of racism for a home invasion in Kentucky? Some simple reporting on the incident and the judges reaction would focus the argument where it should be.

Alas, I'm sure that is the norm, whereas what we have in this thread is an exception to that unspoken rule. We never tune in to hear about the thousands of safe landings carried out on a daily basis. It's the crash and burn episodes that make the news.
