Hi Guys! Just want to know how long can a permanent resident can take a vacation outside the US?

I'm planning to have a 2 and half months vacation and of course to see my husband, i really miss him! :crying:

Is 2 and a half months is allowed? And is it ok if i'll do that every year, while we're waiting for his petition to be :cry:

Approved and get apermanent visa?

Please reply?

2 1/2 months is fine, you will have no problem. Anything under a year is fine without a travel document if you would want to stay outside the country over a year and less than 2, you will need to file an I-131 for a re entry permit.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
