Varicella--verbal confirmation okay?

I had chickenpox in second grade, 21 years ago, before doctors' records were digitized and my doctor from then has long since retired. I can't get records from him any longer. Does anyone know if they're still accepting verbal confirmation that you had chicken pox or do I need to get mineself to a doctor and get titred?

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)
October 31, 2014: USCIS ships file to NVC (five days after NOA2) Happy Halloween for us!

November 18, 2014: NVC receives our case (22 days after NOA2)

December 17, 2014: NVC generates case number (50 days after NOA2)

December 19, 2014: Receive AOS bill, DS-261. Submit DS-261 (52 days after NOA2)

December 20, 2014: Pay AOS Fee

January 7, 2015: Receive, pay IV Fee

January 10, 2015: Complete DS-260

January 11, 2015: Send AOS package and Civil Documents
March 23, 2015: Case Complete at NVC. (70 days from when they received docs to CC)

May 6, 2015: Interview at Montréal APPROVED!

May 11, 2015: Visa in hand! One year less one day from NOA1.

I've read others that said verbal confirmation was okay..... I've recently gotten a titre test done. It came back and showed strong immunity to chicken pox from when I had it as a kid....

09-20-2018 Transferred to TSC

10-15-2018 Text notification "New Card Being Produced"   YAY!!

Haven't made the call yet--one of the Toronto ones. I'm planning to go to Montréal the day before the interview and only take that day and the day of the interview off, heading back to Toronto the evening after the interview, staying at a hostel for that one night. I'm trying to minimize any missed work to maximize my EI claim so I have a little bit of time to breathe and adjust once I get down there while I wait for my SSN before I start panicking.

Did a titre test cost anything (assuming you're on OHIP and not a different province...) and how long did it take to come back, just out of curiosity?

Verbal confirmation should be fine.

You can ask your doctor for the tests. A lab may or may not charge you, but is less likely to do so if requested by your doctor.

OHIP covered the test... I just talked to my own doc about it and why I was requesting it.... results were available in about a week and he gave me a copy of the report so that I can take it to the medical. It was also a good idea because it showed my MMR immunity was low and he gave me the booster right there in the office too....

I was joking with hubby about all the medical I was using - multiple doc appointments (a daughter was sick around the same time), blood tests, an u/s for a 'girly-bits' issue (not preggers! lol!!) and other stuff and how it didn't cost anything out of pocket....

I really hate doctors. I would rather do anything else than go to the doctor or dentist. I was a very sickly teenager as a result of a very serious illness and a series of birth defects making themselves known. After a bunch of minor surgeries and a lot of blood tests, I'm totally normal now, but man I loathe seeing doctors or dentists.

Verbal is supposed to be accepted. My chicken pox was at least 35 years ago and my doctor also retired and had ####### records, even though I paid to get them when he retired he never wrote anything down about when I had the chicken pox so it wouldn't have helped anyway.

Do you have any chicken pox scars? I had one on my wrist I could have presented as evidence I guess!

I asked my doctor prior to my appt if verbal confirmation was ok and he said it was fine so thats all i did

January 8th 2014 - NOA1

July 10th 2014 - NOA2

NVC

July 17th 2014 - Case shipped to NVC

July 30th 2014 - Case received by NVC

August 13th 2014 - Case number and IIN received by email

August 13th 2014 - DS-261 Form Completed

August 14th 2014 - AOS Fees Invoiced and Paid

September 17th 2014 - IV Fees Invoiced and Paid

September 19th 2014 - DS260 Completed

October 6th 2014 - AOS and IV Packages Received

November 28th 2014 - AOS and IV Checklist (4 items in total. 3 for documents they lost. Called on December 9 and a rep said no checklist for IV....go figure)

December 8th 2014 - Checklist scan date.

December 30th 2014 - Case Compl........NOT. So after not having an interview date yet, I called again on Jan 30th and apparently its in final review with a supervisor.

February 6th 2015 - Case Complete: Supervisor called from NVC to confirm everything has been completed now.

March 27 2015 - Interview Date

March 27 2015 - Approved!
