Yup, just a bunch of poo! Check this out, just found it in the immigration timelines. Looks like this person with November 2014 NOA got their expedite requested approved so they could apply for financial aid for school, also noted because of financial loss.

Smells like manure!

Thanks for sharing Derwood. I am upset for you that there has been no update, this is another case that means a financial loss and one of the things I have been trying to point out for some time now without actually mentioning names as it is their stories to tell everyone!

People on here get upset about the process taking SO long as like Nlhernan and myself we have an older only son who we would love to be reunited with and like Derwood, there is a job we would like to apply for, but we can't as we aren't a permanent resident or like Esperedo we don't want to have to wait at border control for hours on end to visit a sick relative!

Derwood is willing to put his life on the line each day to protect the American public and it's like that isn't an admirable thing according to the USCIS, however, going back to college is? SMH yet again.

I think it makes us feel like we are not really wanted in the USA! It just sucks!

As we're talking about expedite requests this morning I thought I'd share my experience too.

Back in the UK I was a cop. When I emigrated I presumed that my career as a cop was over. This was because I believed that you have to be a US citizen to be a cop over here and by the time I got citizenship I'd be either too old or too out of practice.

On February 1 I discovered that four states will let LPR's become cops and that my state, Ohio, is one of those states. I then found that there were vacancies not too far from where we live. If I were to be successful getting one of those jobs the increase in my pay would have been phenomenal.

So I rang USCIS and explained the situation to a very helpful, yes helpful, Tier 1 officer who raised an expedite request on my behalf ... that was on February 2. On February 4 my expedite request went to 'assigned', to 'we sent a response, to 'completed'. A few days later I received a letter asking for additional information to support my request. The letter said I should receive a decision with 5 days of sending in the evidence. So I gathered all of the information together and returned it on the same day and then went on vacation for a week.

By the time i got back from vacation [steady yourselves, I've got a shocker coming here] I hadn't heard a thing. So I rang the mis-information line back and was told I needed to wait 30 days. I told the agent the letter said 5 days for the decision and after a polite argument I got put through to Tier 2. All they could tell me was that my case was still at the NBC and that the expedite request had not been turned down or approved.

Skip forward to March 10 when I managed to raise a service request to enquire on the status of the expedite. It sat unassigned until the 18th, was assigned and unassigned on the same day. As of now, I've had no communication from USCIS on either the expedite or the SR.

And that's where I am today. I can't bare calling the mis-information line to check up on it. I've thought about an infopass but it's a 90 minute drive and I'm not sure I can be bothered to drive all that was to be told BS.

I'm sorry I didn't share this with you guys earlier but I didn't want you to think I was trying to jump the queue. I thought my reasons for expedite were fair. Maybe they were urgent, but not urgent enough.

USCIS really know how to wear you down.

Thanks Shell. Posting my expedite experience on here must have given me a bit of a self-kick up the a** as I've just called the mis-information line. I'm now on a 106 minute wait for a Tier 2 call back.

What I just noticed right now, is that on Friday they opened the Expedite Request and also opened a Service Request for taking longer than usual. I requested to be emailed for both responses and provided the same email address. Looks like the Service Request was finally sent to the National Benefits Center versus to El Paso, TX like all of the other Service Requests that I have opened in the past. The Service request now says that it was completed on March 28th, which was Saturday, but I never received an email. That was awfully quick for a Service Request based on past experiences. My work schedule has now changed, THANK GOD, and I will be getting out of work earlier now, so I think I will call again today after work to see why I was not emailed about Service Request. Maybe they saw my wife's case getting moved and quickly closed Service Request? Who knows, but I'll find out.

good luck!!!!

I am glad you posted, it gives an insight for other people who may be going through exactly the same thing as you and the guy who wanted to be a prison officer. If memory serves me correctly it may have been Plato, (MAY), but it isn't a secret as they posted on here about their experience a couple of months ago!

So any one who wants to know and I think it was asked the other day, do you need a GC for a government job, well in some cases and probably all cases, YES you do!! Can you get an expedite case for that? Time will tell and Derwood will update you as and when he finds out! I still don't see how going to college/university is a financial loss, it sounds to me if they get help with costs it's actually a financial gain. Still trying to get my head around that one!

Hey guys!

Well my case has fallen outside of the normal processing time but I'm not surprised, given the heads up by other VJ members posts.

AOS was filed on June 23rd 2014 and the Notice of Potential Interview Waiver letter was dated 25th September 2014. .

Is anyone else on this forum AOS Case is being processed by Ford Smith Field Office AR?

I was hoping to get an idea of how long again of a wait I'm in for.

Thanks a lot!

This is crazy, I still can't believe financial aid is enought to approve and expedite and your situation is still hanging in the air somewhere. THIS IS JUST CRAZY!

Welcome to the thread!

I am not sure if Ford Smith Field is your local office, but it wouldn't matter any way as most of our files go to a field office that aren't overloaded with cases, so you could find your file in California, Florida, Pennsylvania, or any where in the USA!

I'm guessing Ford Smith is not your local office? If your case has made it to a field office there should be a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. How do you know your case is at the Ford Smith office?
