That is very good news!!

I can't do anything yet, not a service request, a how is your mother request as my field office is SO slow, only on early July filers and Im an August one. I don't expect them to be on mid August by next month's processing figures, in fact it wouldnt surprise me if they went backwards! Nothing surprises with the system any more, not a singular thing. Sorry I tell a lie, what surprises me is when they do a block of approvals, not good for the old ticker! lol!

Actually come to think of it, I think Derwood has similar dates to you and his office is in Ohio somewhere, perhaps you can give him your Co :)ngress persons details? :)

I don't know if he is under the same Congressman, as the Cleveland field office covers multiple counties which overlap with multiple Congressmen.

I got a response from my congresswoman's office. They called and sent an email. So far, they're only seeking the authorization form from us. I'm excited that we got anything from them at all.

I went face-to-face with someone at the Congressman's office. I find things work better when you meet the people, and we talked for 30 minutes or so and he asked me for the authorization form. I signed it handed it to him and we were done. I got a letter in the mail 3 days later from DC signed by the congressman saying he requested information from USCIS, and then 1-2 weeks letter another saying USCIS told him it was a potential interview waiver and it could take 9-12 months longer. A couple of days after hearing from him I got a call from the Cleveland Field Office saying they were going to look at it, and it would take up to 60 days. I did also file an SR at the same time as requesting the Congressman to look into things, my Case Updates on the USCIS website don't show anything apart from the SR being assigned to an officer. I don't know whether the SR or Congressman worked but something did.

This is UNTRUE! Just because the OMBUDSMAN took over a month with Natonstan, doesnt necessarily mean that it will take that time with any one else!

Natonstan was NOT over processing time when he contacted the OMBUDSMAN, so they wouldn't have been able to do much with his request until he was outside of the processing times!

The mean average if you look at people's old posts that have contacted the OMBUDSMAN is around 3 weeks, can take up to 60 days but normally they conclude it before this date.

Obviously if you don't hear within the 60 days they state (probably state this as a matter of course, so they don't get dozens of complaints) then you need to contact them to remind them.

Great.I didn't want to wait 45 or 60 days for a reply .If your words come true with my case ,I will be very happy.

You scored here! This happened to me on my ID card and they gave me four years when I was waiting for my EAD card to come. They corrected it when I got my temporary driving licence though.

I remember researching this when they gave me the four year ID card and I'm fairly sure federal law (The Patriot Act) states that state ID cards/licences shouldn't extend beyond the current expiry date of the immigration ID.

I feel fortunate that I don't have to worry about it for four years. I did provide them with the EAD/AP card when I applied for my permit, but even that had a 3 year expiry date. Today when issuing my licence they didn't ask about the EAD/AP card, only my permit.

Now if only we could all get our green cards... :)

I saw that June filer approval yesterday. Are we sure it was a NPIW case? I only looked quickly but couldn't see that it was at first glance.

Im flummoxed why would they send that email, did you ask for an info pass? If not then they are definitely doing something with your case, what I don't know, or someone has contacted other than yourself, perhaps your lawyer or the ombudsman?

Nope, we didn't ask for a infopass appt, I know the lawyer did not. I haven't received anything yet from Ombudsman except the initial conformation reply to our request. I'm confused.

That is why I am thinking the OMBUDSMAN may have called them and some person who didn't understand the phone call decided to email you!! SMH! Have you emailed the OMBUDSMAN and enquired if it was them? I would, give them a nudge in the right direction!
