Interview Scheduling Insight?

From the information I've gleaned from this website, my extremely foggy idea of how things work for interviews at the HCMC consulate is as follows:

The first couple weeks of each month interviews are scheduled for the following month. And.... that's about it. I can see that there is a serious lack of information about this on VJ due the the fact that each individual consulate likely works to the beat of their own drum. I've called the NVC several times and basically get "It happens when it happens". I do understand I can check the average wait time in the immigration timelines, unfortunately, there's not a lot of recent data to get a good assessment. Is there anyone out there that has more detailed information on the process of scheduling interviews? Do IR/CR-1 have any kind of priority? Is there a max wait time? Is there any contact I can reach to get more information? Where are my socks? Airspeed of an unladen swallow?

Obrakeo, your socks have been eaten by the sock monster. Sorry - you will have to buy another pair....

You are correct - each consulate/embassy does seem to have its own rhythm, though some are more predictable than others. The HCMC version is especially obtuse. I went through the process with a person who seemed to have to wait three months before the HCMC scheduled him for a slot. And then, they seemed to get their act together and schedule every month. So the "just wait it out" info from NVC is, unfortunately, correct.

That said, be glad you are not trying to interview in Egypt. They seem to be the wackiest based on my VJ lifespan.

I'm sure there are many here who will try to vie for the "wackiest" consulate/embassy....

I did some searches and found some info about people emailing the consulate - not sure if it'll help if you try that
