January 12, 2015 I sent NVC an email to correct my dad's name and I attached his passport just like they instructed. January 16, 2015 I sent the AOS and IV packet and got a 60 days letter from NVC Jan.22, 2015. Scan date is Jan.20, 2015.

Well, last March 2nd I got an email from them saying the my dad's name has been updated.! I checked online and I was happy to see that his name is finally correct.

But today I got another 60 days email with scan date March 4!!! I was so confused! So I called NVC and the guy said they received a mail last mar.4 and it's a copy of my dad's passport! I said I didn't mail any additional documents nor a copy of passport.. and told him i emailed them last january with attqched passport copy for name changed and it's been updated as of March 2. After that he told me he's going to forward my concern to the supervisor for review so I don't have to wait 60 days.

This process is pissing me off.. does anyone went through the same trash? It's just doesn't make sense to me that I have to wait another 60 days when that concern was already fixed last March 2nd.

I have a similar situation. I sent a document in and received a scan date of Jan 2nd. Then I received an email in February saying they recieved a document..60 days to review but I never sent another document! I called twice and got the same response...they said they can't see what the document is but I will have to go by the february 6th scan date now! One lady said it could have been if I didn't include barcode cover sheet and they had to "refile" it. but I know I included cover page! ive seen cc of January 2nd and even one for the 5th now so I've pretty much given up hope for an early March review and settling in to another month of waiting.

I am experiencing a VERY similar situation. The NVC repeatedly misspelled my wife's name, after several attempts by me and my lawyer to get them to correct it. On December 12, 2014 I sent them an email to correct her name, and attached her passport (as they instructed me to do). On January 30, 2015 I received an email from the NVC confirming they updated (corrected) her name. On February 12th I received an email saying they received my documents on February 10th, and they expect it to be 60 days to review my case. I DIDN'T SEND THEM ANYTHING!!! I called, and a person told me it had to do with the passport "mail". I disagreed with them...and got nowhere.

Two weeks ago (Feb. 20th), I get a phone call from the NVC. The woman tells me they haven't gotten to my file yet....it will be approximately 60 days from Feb. 10...blah blah blah. I told her I didn't send anything. She checked, and said it was the issue of the passport I sent. I told her how I emailed a copy of the passport to change the name, etc. etc. She specifically said that should never have been put in my file as receiving mail. She said it would be removed, and they would review my case as soon as possible. She said they are behind, and they had closings due to the weather. I should be patient. If I didn't hear anything in a few weeks, I should call back.

SO... I call tonight. The woman tells me that my case is still waiting to be reviewed. Due to the "mail" received on Feb. 10th it will be at least 60 days (from Feb. 10). AGAIN, I tell her the whole story...which keeps getting longer and longer thanks to these incompetent buffoons.

So, I don't know what, or who, to believe anymore. I'd like to believe the woman who called me. Simply because I've never heard of the NVC calling anyone, but I am slowly (ok, maybe a little faster) losing my optimism.

I'm 6 days from this whole process being a year old, my wife and I are MORE than ready to be together!
