Hi there, it's been 77 days now for my EAD APPLICATION that's why gave it a shot and called USCIS earlier. The representative whom I talked to created a service request for my application.

I was wondering, did you receive anything on your email after you call them?

yeah.I received an email from them. and i am lil excited since they said i will hear something shortly. Ugh but who knows!

I called yesterday for the same reason, I received an email this morning that was just a transcript of the service request to confirm it.

I called them yesterday as well! did they say you will hear something shortly? cuz i was told like that. I wanna believe them but i have doubts about it.

I called yesterday for the same reason, I received an email this morning that was just a transcript of the service request to confirm it.

I got one too. Just curious, the email that you have received, on the bottom part, does it have something that says like this?

The status of this service request is:

Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter.

Based on the research I have done, it depends on the employer. But since there is a background check done to verify data about the immigrant, I would think some problems could arise if names on EAD and SSC do not match. Your SSN is yours forever, but now it is still associated with you maiden name. I will start working once I receive my SSC in my married name.

Thank you for your response. I appreciate you taking time answering our inquiries here.

So you already went to SS office to update your SS card to your married last name?

Does it matter on the processing time to where service center your case is at? My case is now 72 days at National Benefit Center.

All EAD/AP applications are processed at NBC in Lee's Summit, MO. Like it was mentioned before, you can make a service request once your EAD/AP has been pending for more than 75 days: http://www.uscis.gov/forms/tip-sheet-employment-authorization-applications-pending-more-75-days

AOS applications are processed in NBC too, but if an interview is required they forward the case to the applicant's local USCIS office. From then on, the processing time is based on the given USCIS office's workloads and backlog.

You are welcome. :)

Not yet. I received my EAD on May 20th. I originally wanted to go and apply for a new SSC right on the following week, but after having done some research I decided to wait at least 2 weeks, to let the SAVE system update my immigration status. Some people encounter problems when going to the SSA office right away and are told to come back a couple weeks later. I didn't want to make 2 trips, so I decided to wait a bit. However, I will go to the SSA office next week.

You definitely know what to do in every step. I believe, you doing some research here and being positive all the time helps.

Yes, you're right that's why I was wondering why mine says: within 60 days of the date of this letter.

Which case number did you give them? I gave them my I-765 number. Maybe you told them your I-485 case number?

I gave them my I-765 case number. And it also shows on the case history every time I log in on my USCIS account under I-765 case
