@NataliaM were you able to schedule a new appointment relatively soon? Our interview was originally scheduled for 1/28 and got cancelled around the 20th (they emailed us saying they cancelled certain interviews on the 22nd and 28th). My fiancée was able to reschedule for the 3rd, fortunately, but that was like the only date in February available when she logged in.

I scheduled the appointment for February 2nd (tomorrow), but had to cancel it because of this additional instructions. I didn’t schedule the new one yet, because the instructions says I should wait till they process it. I checked today, the next available date is just March 2nd... we lost two weeks because they sent the documents to the wrong address first, and now this :(

hello everyone. just checking in to say that we noticed our case was sent to the state department. our priority date is in october 2020, so this was unexpectedly fast (nebraska NVC). based on the wiki and such, guessing an NOA2 notice will follow shortly? and then, we wait a few weeks to get a case # + invoice ID from an operator.

anyone else at a similar stage?

Hi, I posted recently that for foreigners it seems like they have a little bit of additional requirements . They asked me (I am Russian but live in Japan) to send them documents before the interview. I attached this page which is different from what they send to Japanese people.

also you can find P3 on previous pages.

In addition to the instructions for non-Japanese residents living in Japan that @NataliaM provided, you can find the English-version of Packet3 here:

And the Japanese version:

I appreciate the help! Thank you so much to those who replied to my message.

We are still waiting for the NOA2 notice in mail. I have a few concerns because my fiance isn't working rn due to the virus. I hope that some of you can help me answer the following:

1) Is there a limit as to how many joint sponsors for K1?

2) Can I also provide documents that I have savings? more like be my own sponsor?

3) My company here in Japan is willing to keep me even if I work remotely, if my company gives me a certificate about it, will that help?

Also, my employer is very unhelpul and will not provide a letter. Thankfully im getting a new job soon.

For the i134, can i use w2, tax transcripts from last two years, and paystubs for supporting documents?

Also,

If i switch jobs, she can bring the job offer to the interview? But the original i134 will have my previous employer on it. Will this be a problem?

I-130 got approved recently and have officially moved on to NVC stage! I received lots of help and encouragement from other Japan members, so wanted to thank again & share status update :)

One thing I've been a bit unsure of is dealing with domicile requirements. I work for a Japanese subsidiary of a US company, make above poverty line, and should be able to do an internal transfer to the US office. Since the internal transfer process is very quick, I was planning to start looking for a position closer to our interview date so husband and I can move at same time.

Some sources online say you need to have proof of a job lined up already to prove domicile, but it seems like my employment situation could be counted as domicile in US per the I-864 FAQ. Any thoughts on this?

For backup also have other evidence of domicile in US  (filed taxes, maintain bank accounts, voter record, permanent mailing address with my family)

We filed online, and our application got approved around the same time as yours. We still haven't received any physical mail, but within a couple of days the NOA-2 was uploaded to the documents tab of MyUSCIS. Within a week we'd received an email from NVC with our login info for their site, and were able to submit fee payments.

Hope this helps!

Can I ask what everyone used to send their boxes from Japan to America and their experiences and recommendations?

Thank you.

We are using (still en route) y-logi.com. Yamato International Moving.

Signing up, having boxes delivered, and letting us pay later once we had dates certain for pickup/flights booked, and having them pick them up all went smoothly.

Hello everyone!

I sent out my documents to the US embassy here in tokyo last week since they’re asking for a fee documents for our case but then yesterday, I got an email saying that they haven’t received my documents yet. So basically panicked and called JP POST to confirm that my documents was sent and the US embassy. Has anyone here had the same experience? As far as I know, they wouldn’t send you an email if they received your documents so, getting that email yesterday just kinda... made me worried that all my documents are gone..

After having to hound USCIS for her i765 approval we finally got it, then about a month later received a notice that our interview was scheduled for May 6th. We are shocked it happened so quickly.

Few questions, what should we bring with us beyond the listed information?

We didn't file a i693 when we filed and have been working on getting all her vaccinations finished. She still has a few more and will be 1 short come time for the interview, any ideas how to handle this?

Any recent covid world news on how interviews are handled now?

Did you schedule the interview or the embassy gave you a schedule?

also if I may ask, are you the ones sending your medical documents to the US embassy?
