alternative for artist vsa?

Hello people. hopefully you guys can help me. I have a foreigner friend who works as a professional dancer trying his luck here in Los Angeles on an artist visa. However, his visa will be expiring early next year and im not sure how accurate this is but he spent alot of monet to acquire artist visa and will soon be looking at spending, more or less, the same amount again to renew(?) the visa. His issue is:

1) is it difficult to renew an artist visa for the 2nd time?

2) because hes a dancer, can any dance company or agency sponsor him for a work visa so he cna stay her longer?

3) what other option cna he take as replacement?

i understand his situation and he is the kind of person who will work nad do anything to earn for a living to support his family abroad.

i will appreciate any information you can provide.
