Hi Everybody, Hoping you can help me. My finance and I have finally gotten our paperwork to the Manila embassy and the online system indicates that the status is "Ready". I have encouraged my fiancé to pay her k1 fee and get an interview date, but she indicates that she MUST wait for a confirmation letter. Does anybody have any information about this confirmation letter that she is talking about? I see to pay the fee she must print out a receipt to take to the bank....but Confirmation letter... She also indicated that the fee is only good for 2 weeks and that it should be paid just before interview which seems crazy. We have received nothing in writing, we have a case # verbally after I called NVS, and checked online to verify our case is READY status... Any help on now what? Many thanks!

Tell your fiancée that she probably won't receive the letter from the embassy. My wife never received it. She can pay the visa fee now, and get her interview scheduled. I haven't read about a fee expiration, but you can schedule the interview as soon as your fee is processed (it can take a few hours or more). The actual interview can be weeks after you paid the visa fee. My wife's interview was 7 weeks after she paid the visa fee.

You, the petitioner, will most likely receive a letter from NVC within a week or so that documents your MNL case number, USCIS receipt number and both of your names. Good to scan that one in email to fiancée for her to print and carry to her upcoming medical exam and USEM interview.

My fiancée received a letter from the USEM within about 2 weeks of when we got our MNL. The letter is worthless .... perhaps a souvenir at best.

Congrats!

Don't wait as you have the MNL#. Use Hank's guide. Scroll down to my signature and use the link at the end of the multi arrows. Click on NVC to MNL and follow each step and you will not fail.

There is no letter that will arrive. Natta.... Zero.... doesn't exist.

Absolutely do NOT wait for the letter from USEM! Very few ever get it, and it is NOT needed for anything. Everything is online.

It is ROCK n ROLL time! Follow the flashing arrow below for details

She also indicated that the fee is only good for 2 weeks and that it should be paid just before interview which seems crazy.

The visa application fee is good for 1 year upon payment.

Payment Information

Although fees are listed in U.S. dollars, payment must be made using local currency. You can pay your fee at Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) or, if you are an account holder at Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) or BancNet, you can pay online. More information about payment options is here. To find a Bank of the Philippine Islands branch, click here.

Restrictions

Your visa application fee is non-refundable and you cannot transfer it to another person. You will receive a receipt after paying the application fee. This receipt is valid for one year from the date of payment and allows you to schedule your interview at the U.S. Embassy/Consulate. You must schedule your interview while the receipt is valid, which means your interview must be booked within one year of paying your fee. If you do not schedule an interview within a year of payment then your receipt will expire, you will not be able to schedule an interview, and you must pay the fee again and begin the process anew.

HI :) your fiancee can pay the k1 fee and do medical without the confirmation letter. I actually got mine, but it was few days before my interview :D

Tell your fiancee to start making the DS 160 as she needs to bring it in SLEC.
