AOS RFE's

Hey all .. I wondered what some of you got RFE's for during the AOS process .. ? Curiosity is getting the better of me while we wait for my Daughters RFE in the mail ..

We just got the RFE in the mail .. it's for I-864 related things .. it's confusing as hell !! seems like they are asking for W2's and 1099 .. and a copy of income tax return .. and an IRS trascript .. and an employment letter .. and paystubs.. I was under the impression it was W2/1099 and federal tax return copy or IRS transcript Anywayssssssss ! BAH @ least we know now

BTW they have been known to ask for this stuff even when it's been sent previously.

Well we sent I-864 and IRS transcript , work letter and paystubs .. we will send it all again ( after we get another transcript ) and include the W2's and 1099 and a notarized copy of the federal tax refund .. Funny thing is that we didn't get an RFE for my sons package that was exactly the same .. nor mine .. also the same ! Shows how consistant USCIS actually is ..

They aren't supposed to ask for the attachments if you use a transcript. It's right in the instructions. But this isn't the first time I've heard of this on VJ........

Do you keep a copy of your tax return? I've used good old copies with all my attachments throughout the entire process so far and never had a problem. If you have a copy of the return, I'd be tempted to just send that with the W2s, 1099's, etc. and I bet that'll fly.

There must be somebody out in Missouri who doesn't know what a tax transcript is.

We have a notarized copy of the tax return leftover from the K1 process because the consulate only wanted the transcript @ the interview so we will send that and the W2s and 1099 .. BUT what worrys me is if we send that and they want the transcript as well .. we don't want another RFE of course ... we have already called the IRS and ordered another trascript ( approx 7 days ) so i guess we may as well wait and send it all ... We do have Biometrics appointments tomorro morning so i'm going to take the RFE along and try to get some more info as well .. maybe they can shed some light on exactly what they want

Sounds like a plan.

For whatever its worth, I read this on here often. Very frustrating for you though and I hope it's the only hitch in your process.

If your tax return showed sufficient income, you shouldn't.

My RFE was for the I-864 supporting documents. I sent photocopies of last year's tax return, W-2s, 1099s, payment stubs, except the employment letters. So I just resent everything again, including the employment letters. Good luck.

If your tax return showed sufficient income, you shouldn't.

Another case of nuthing consistant .. my husband the USC makes over double the poverty guideline .. and we sent the paystubs and still got the RFE .. my bet is it must be different people looking @ different cases with only general guides .. that would account for the RFE's being so inconsistant ..

We got the tax RFE first. I'd sent tax transcripts, which showed my income, but they wanted tax returns and pay stubs and so forth.

CSC just sent us another RFE for the vaccination supplement stuff. If it isn't one thing, it's another.
