Nothing you can do, they must apply and qualify based on their own merits. The reasons for visiting the US are not what they need to focus on, they need to focus on why they MUST return

good luck

My fiance's mom and siblings are in ghana. What needs to be done to invite them to our wedding in July? How long does it take to get a visa? How long will the Ghanaian embassy issue a visa for?

They will each apply on their own. The most important aspect is the ability to PROVE the person must return to their country. This is many times difficult to do.

The visa would be good for 6 months I think. They would exit Ghana in that time. You may be asking how long the person could stay. That timing is determined at the POE after the initial questions. For this reason the person needs to be able to respond correctly to those questions to gain entry.

I suggest having one apply at a time. I don't know how long it takes to get interviewed in Ghana. Contact the embassy to make sure.

yes I went to Ghana.usembassy.gov and did some reading. I have let them know they must do the applying. My fiancé has his interview 3/10 so after that we will move on to the next steps. Once the interview is over I think I can breath a little better.

Why would they get a visa for 6 months? Wouldn't a B2 be issued for at least 5 years? Possibly longer?

I mean the visa could be used within a 6 month period to attempt to enter the USA. The matter of actual entry is determined at the POE as is the length of stay.
