Notifications Post NOA2

Hello - what kind of notifications do you get post NOA2 for the K1 visa? It looks like the key steps post NOA2 are as follows - do you see that each of these steps has been completed when you check your case status on USCIS's website or do you have to call the service center/NVC/consulate for some?

1. Service center has sent the application to NVC

2. NVC received application

3. NVC sent out application to consulate

4. consulate received application

1. Service center has sent the application to NVC That is called NOA2.

2. NVC received application Some folks do get notification of NVC receipt of approved petition and NVC will be sending it to interviewing embassy/consulate.

3. NVC sent out application to consulate As above.

4. consulate received application call DOS or check CEAC

The USCIS website does not have information about the steps done at the NVC/DOS. We called for the information. Google CEAC.

Call the NVC about 2 weeks after you are notified that your documents have been sent to the Dept. of State. They will give you the case number. You can use that case number on the CEAC website to track your case progress after NVC.

I'm not entirely convinced that it has ever been useful - nothing has happened on there for us in over six months - but once the petition leaves NVC you start dealing with the consulate so pretty much yes, any activity on there to date now comes to a halt from what I understand.
