Fiance Visa Petition to Expire in March

Hi all,

My fiance should have his visa in hand by the end of this month but March 11th our petition will actually expire. This means that we will have to be married before then correct. In regards to the AOS application, they ask for a copy of the petition approval letter- I am guessing we won't actually have that completed until the end of March. Will they letter be accepted if it's sent after the date has expired- for aos app?

The visa gives you 6 months to enter and 90d to marry from arrival. Once you get the visa the expiration date of the petition is irrelevant.

Once you are in interview phase, your petition expiration date can be extended by embassy. You have anywhere from 2-6 weeks in AP before visa is issued after interview approval. Once you enter US, you have 90 days to get married. Your NOA2 is your petition approval letter.

Phase I - IV - Completed the Immigration Journey

Thanks everyone! At the very beginning of this process I was very aware and well informed... now that we are actually getting through seems like I have no idea what is going on and my brain isn't working!
