yea.. if the homophobics and conservatives (kinda the same) want to say 'well, gays can't get married because they can't have kids'.. this statement or law pretty much PWNS their argument

I love stereotypes...

I happen to be a "conservative" and yet, I have no problem whatsoever with homosexuals marrying each other.

i said kinda the same.. not the same.. the kinda means some.. LOL

some homophobics are conservative, same way the other way.. but it's usually homophobics and/or conservatives who oppose these laws because 'if a gay touches a kid the kid becomes gay' and all that nonsense

Love is love no matter who you are.

and anyone who can figure out the paperwork should be able to immigrate.

You mean like, 'Not all conservatives are homophobes, but all homophobes are conservative'? ;):P

Edit: I forgot to mention... My best friend and his wife are one of those great married (10+ years) couples who can't have children. They spent over $25K in 3 attempts and lost them all. :(

OLYMPIA, Wash. —

Proponents of same-sex marriage have introduced a ballot measure that would require heterosexual couples to have a child within three years or have their marriages annulled.

...

The group said the proposal was aimed at "social conservatives who have long screamed that marriage exists for the sole purpose of procreation."

Cheryl Haskins, executive director of Allies for Marriage and Children, said opponents of same-sex marriage want only to preserve marriage as the union of a man and a woman.

"Some of those unions produce children and some of them don't," she said.

So if I am opposed to same sex marriage for other reasons, is it ok if I don't have kids then?? or if I can't conceive due to medical reasons, can I still be married?? pretty please???

sheesh, this world's getting more and more ridiculous by the second.

It's just something to get attention for their cause. I don't see what the big deal with same sex marriage is. Let them marry if they want to. Who does it hurt? I know some say marriage is a religious thing but that's total BS. My wife an I were married by the mayor of her home town in his office and I'm agnostic. The funny thing is, we couldn't have married in the church if we wanted to because I wasn't baptized Catholic (I was baptized Lutheran). All I could do is  at the hypocrisy.

I think my in-laws would actually be in favor of this law.

Coming up on 2 years already, and I know she aint gettin' knocked up in the next 4 months!

Come to think of it, I think a lot of would-be Grandmothers would highly favor this law.

I don't want to sound rude Steve, but have you shared you liberalism with you Filipina fiance? Perhaps you should share your feelings with her since she is coming from a very conservative Catholic country.

And you, of course, are coming from the center of homosexuality in California - Laguna Beach.

Now, there are many baklas in the P.I. but they are looked on more as a "third sex" if you will.

And most Filipino men do not consider sex with a bakla as being homosexual on their part.

But baklas will never obtain the goal of the American homosexual of "equal status and rights".
