I am surprised to not have seen any posts about this topic on here yet...Am I the only one going insane and pulling my hair out because the stupid website for the consulate in Montreal has been being upgraded for the past couple weeks and as a result no appointments were available (k1)!!! and now that the upgrade is complete today, there are still no appointments available!! I am so looking forward to being done with this whole process! It is bad enough to be waiting for something like an interview date, but it is absolutely mind blowingly frustrating to not even be able to schedule the interview and have no idea how far into the future its going to be! Come one people, get with it!! Were waiting on you!!!

(Potential) end of rant.

It is Montreal...has been this way for years......................

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Thanks everyone,

I know I'm not the only one, in fact I suppose if I were booking would be a breeze  lol I guess I didnt realize thats how it has always been, I checked before they decided to upgrade the site and all it said was that the next one was 43 days from then so I thought oh thats not bad and seeing I was in an airport when I saw that I decided to wait till I got home to do anything about it...big mistake obviously bc I went to do it a day or so later and there were none available. Oh well hopefully they open up quick

You will have to be patient. You are waiting to BE married. Many already married are still waiting. I've been waiting 2 years for this stupid process without the kids or my husband. They will be all gone to college when I get back at this rate. Ridiculous.

I agree. Yours has been a most frustrating journey. When you started, the IR1 system was faster than the K1 most of the time. Then you got stuck and have been that way for a long time (since you got married and changed the process you were on.) I cannot wait until your journey is at an end so you can have your happily ever after. I'll miss you, but I really feel you deserve to have something in this process go quickly for you.

I suppose the one benefit you have is that you now never have to remove conditions?

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.  - Dr. Seuss

Oh no! It only took 6 days (including the weekend) for them to e-mail packet 4 after I sent in packet 3, (check junk mail?) maybe you'll get it tonight. :)

I know!! I checked other members, and stev's packet 4 took 11 days after she sent in her packet 3, but now that I am on day 12 I am getting worried. I might re-send my packet 3 if I don't hear anything by Wednesday. Maybe it got lost far down in the inbox abyss...
