Hey everyone!

My hubby received his EAD, and we were wondering, does he need to notify SSA that he was approved and received his card? Or does it automatically notify SSA, and can he start looking for a job right away (without notifying SSA)?? (He already has his SSN.)

06 Aug 2015: GC approved! :dancing: (Welcome to U.S. letter received 8/10)

19 Aug 2015: GC received in mail (2 year Conditional Residence)

At this stage he doesn't need to notify SSA about anything. His SS card should have wording on it stating "valid for work with DHS authorisation" or something similar. His EAD is his authorisation. He is free to start working now.

When he gets his green card he should return to his SS office and have the annotation removed.
