Hi, everyone!

I am new here, and I read all the guides. My fiancee and I are going to file a K-1 visa soon. However, we are confused when it comes to the Affidavit of Support document. We filled it up, but we don't know if it has to go with the packet or if he should send it to me for my interview.

I read on the sample cover letter (which by the way we will use, so thank you!!!) that it is not included, but my cousin who is now in the US said that we should include it in the packet.

I really hope that someone can explain this part to me.

Thank you in advance!

Also just a side note as you are new...

Sometimes it can be confusing as AOS is used to refer to the Affidavit of support and other times to Adjustment of status (the process that comes after the K1 visa and marriage).

Just might be worth noting to save later confusion :)

But yes the affidavit is not needed until the interview.

The I-134 is for later at the embassy, not need to file the I-129F petition.

Psst! - Don't list to your cousin, doesn't seem to have a clue ;)
