hi everyone i emailed vancouver and boy they are fast on replies. i got my date its march 8th at 10 am. how long does it take to get to consulate from airport? I'm planning on flying in same day and flying home that evening. anyone else got that date?

The airport is in Richmond, and the consulate is in downtown Vancouver. By taxi, you should probably allow at least an hour, because you will most likely hit rush-hour.

Good luck at the interview. They're great at the Vancouver consulate.

Yes..... as a few others have mentioned if you give yourself an hour you should be fine. I took a taxi from the airport to the Consulate and back to the airport again and it was $37.00 each way.

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing

Mar 18 - got emails saying that the petitions are approved smile.png

Congrats! Check out the prices on the Limos at the Airport, they can actually be cheaper than a Taxi. We did last year to go on an Alaskan cruise that left from Vanvouver.

CONGRATS ON YOUR APPT DATE!

THEIR IS AN ''AIRPORTER BUS" THAT LEAVES APPROXIMATELY EVERY 15 OR 20 MINUTES JUST OUTSIDE THE BAGGAGE CAROUSEL ARRIVALS. tHIS BUS WILL TAKE YOU TO DOWNTOWN

VANCOUVER. ONE OF THE DROP POINTS IS THE PAN PACIFIC HOTEL JUST A FEW BLOCKS

WALK TO THE US CONSULATE. I THINK ITS UNDER $20 EACH WAY.

JUST GOOGLE SEARCH ENGINE AND TYPE IN "YVR AIRPORTER" IT SHOULD BRING UP A

SCHEDULE AND COSTS. THE TRAVEL TIME CAN BE 30 TO 45 MINUTES.

Good luck! They were so nice at Vancouver.

There is an Airporter bus that goes from the Airport to Canada Place, and the walk from Canada Place to the Embassy is just a little over 5 minutes.

I highly recommend seeing the 3D IMAX "Deep Sea" while you are there, it was so much fun! :P

Nice hotel room stayed there yrs back. Congrats on the interview date

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
