Vancouver consulate is not releasing k1 visa appointments?!

I just received my pkt 4 through email from the Vancouver consulate. It states that they are no longer releasing any visa appointments till early Feb. Is this typical? Is there a chance that someone might cancel their appointment and it might show up for someone (like me lol) to grab it?

Really? Damn, I have been on the website hoping that another date will come up. I have already paid my fee too! But when I went back to book an appointment, it told me that none were available.

When I got my packet 4, it never mentioned anything about the next available dates for interviews, was that in their letter attachment or in the body of the email they sent to you?

It was in bold letters in packet 4 body of the email they sent me, not in the attachment. Said they are sorry but they are not releasing any new interview appointments till they update the site, and they should be doing that early Feb. so to check back then.

I was so happy with how quickly things were going, and now this delay is killing me! I am still checking several times a day, just in case someone cancels their appointment and it opens up a slot. I am praying that there will still be Feb. appointments available.

Well it's not atypical. Montréal typically will have months where they do no have any available dates for K1. Im not surprised Vancouver has also done it.
