  1. Hi all, As most posts seem to relate to K-1 visas, I am curious if anyone else out there is currently going through DCF process for CR-1 (or IR-1) Visa in Moscow? We submitted our petition to USCIS on Feb 22nd right before the local office closed in Moscow and had it approved the same day. We have been at the stage now for 6 weeks where we are gathering all the paperwork for the Visa Interview at the Embassy, but there hasn't been a single interview date available since we started looking at the beginning of March. We won't have all the paperwork ready until mid/end of May, but we were hoping to get the interview booked for end of May as soon as possible to just get that stress out of the way (especially knowing how hard it is to get appointments right now). In this time, the calendar seems to have opened for K-1 visas at least 2-3 times, but never for CR-1 visa appointments. Calling/emailing the Embassy is proving to be completely useless as they can't provide any information on when appointments will be available 1) Is anyone else going through the same process at the moment? 2) The appointment calendar has been opened for us already, but do we need to submit the DS-260 for the Embassy to actually open up interview slots for us? Nothing in the directions says this, but I am just wondering if there is something we are missing. 3) If you have been able to get an appointment, when did the calendar become available for you? 4) Any advice or more recent experiences anyone can share on the DCF process? (I already read a full description of the DCF process in Moscow, but it is from 2012, so seems like some things might have changed in the last 7 years ) thanks in advance!! Brooke
  2. Hi! I really need some help to clear my doubt! My husband and I are waiting for the appointment for his CR1 visa! We got it in CD Juarez Mexico but we still haven't get a date and it's been 3 months since the NVC put us on a waiting list. I know that there's a queue list to check the estimate of time for an interview in the different types of visas but CR1 isn't there! If someone could just tell how long does it take to get an appointment for CD Juarez Thank you
  3. Hey everyone, So we just registered to get our interview and we are still waiting. Does anyone know how long the Johannesburg consulate takes to get the interview ball rolling?? Right now it states there are "No available appointments". Our email letter from the consulate on next steps for K-1 visa/instructions was sent on May 10th. Then it says something about 1-4 weeks to schedule interview from the date the NVC receives package from consulate, is this said "package" the DS-160 form?? I am totally lost on that bit. I am in hypervigilant mode and don't want to miss a thing! Thanks everyone for ANY help on these issues. Best, Megan

  5. Hello, My spouse came here last month and we came across an issue where we needed to go to the a USCIS field office and speak with an immigration officer directly. The nearest USCIS office is in Chicago. The way to do that is go to the USCIS website and schedule an appointment. Given that this is the only field office serving Chicago (3rd most populous city in the USA) getting an appointment is extremely difficult. I kept getting a message that no appointments were available and to try back later. This was extremely frustrating as you get the exact same message every single time. So, here is what I did. I contacted the office of my congressman and they went to work on immediately. However, I happened to be up at 1:30am and out of the blue I decided to see if any info pass appointments were available. Lo and behold !!! They have not one but literally 10 available slots. I have the luxury of choosing a time that was convenient for me ! How about that ? It appears they update the available time slots at or around midnight. Though I don't know the US time zone. I am in Central. Also the earliest date you get will always be 14 days out. I hope this helps someone.
