part of the I-485 it talks about weapons and training and stuff (Part 3 C 15,16, 18). I was a police for a year and received weapons training and detained prisoners and stuff like that, (regular police work) after that I went into the security profession (transporting cash and valuables) and got weapons training there as well. The way the questions are structured I am scared to tick of yes, cause it sounds like I was part of a militia or something. My wife (YAY!! get to say wife now) thinks I should put no, but I ticked yes and now i'm wondering if I should tick no instead. I have not filed it yet, we're waiting for the marriage certificate to arrive before sending, plus I have some other vaccines to get. That is just my concern. Should I tick YES or follow her advice and tick off NO. Apart from that everything else is set and ready

Since you detained prisoners and received weapons training, then you would answer Yes to those. You were a member of a police unit. You did detain prisoners. You did receive weapons training. Never lie. You can include an explanation statement if you wish.
