I was wondering if someone could answer this for me. I just checked my case status for K-1 visa application that is now in Manila. According to status it says it "ready". I was wondering how long does it take once its been approved to get a letter?

Also I was going to send an inquiring to Manila Embassy and it saying something about a priority date what does that mean?

Thanks in advance who ever answer this

*** Country-specific thread moved from K-1 Process forum to the Philippines regional subforum. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

The short anwer is, any time between three days and three months, assuming no problems.

Most people will get in about 2 weeks or so. If you chose to have it delivered to your home in the provnce, add 1 to 2 weeks onto that for delivery time. Most people pick it up at 2Go office at Mall of Asia for fastest speed.

The website will say one of three things: READY, ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING, or ISSUED. Usually it goes from the first one to the second to the third, but it can jump a few times between the first and the second before going to ISSUED. But even if it does that, it is not a problem; in fact it is good news because it shows they are working on it.

Hang in there. It will come soon.

Your timeline is blank so not sure where you are in this process. :time:

Did you complete your interview already and are now waiting for ISSUANCE? Or are you just now starting the process in Manila? - Follow the flashing arrow below if this is the case. (answer to priority date is there also)

Not sure where the time line is? But we are as far as K-1 VISA is in the embassy and according to the case status its says it ready. I was just wondering if the embassy is suppose to send us a letter or can we go ahead and schedule an interview?

OK That is what I was thinking. You have your MNL # and are itching to go. Email a copy of the NVC letter with your MNL # to your fiancee in the Philippines as it will be needed for the medical.

Don't wait for any letter from the embassy, everything is done online. Follow the flashing arrow below, there you will find details on the complete K-1 process for Manila.

As for timeline, look to the lower left of your profile when posting, there is the timeline link, from there right below your names is the EDIT TIMELINE link, this will bring you to the timeline login page - just below that heading in the middle of the page is once more a link to click (it is easier to get into fort knox) ... finally you will be on the actual edit timeline page.
