I will be submitting copies of my pay stubs as proof that I meet the requirements of the I-864 Poverty Guidelines. Will pay stubs be sufficient enough or should I also submit a copy of my most recent W-2 Form and a letter from my employer stating my salary?

You need to submit a copy of the complete income tax return...all documents...not just the W2.

Pay stubs are also needed and an employer letter helps.

You need to follow the embassy instructions letter !! (each embassy is different)

In this case read item "K" of the Manila Embassy Instructions Letter!

1) You do not use the I-864, you use the I-134

2) Embassy requires your most recent tax return AND W-2.

3) Pay stubs, employer letters and bank statements are optional, you can include them if you choose. (if you are a new employee I do suggest including the employer letter and pay stubs, otherwise not that important)

(not sure why this was removed from the Philippines forum>>> )

On the Form I-134 Affidavit of Support (Rev 5/25/11), page 2, under: Oath or Affirmation of Sponsor where it states " I acknowledge that I have read "Sponsor and alien Liability" on page 2 of the instructions for this form, and am aware of my responsibilities as a sponsor under the Social Security Act, as amended, and the Food Stamp Act, as amended. _______________________

What is the purpose of the "Line" following the word "amended"? Is the sponsor required to provide certain information on that line? If so, what is the required information USCIS is asking for on that line?

Sorry stupid question here friends. So just to be 100% clear I should sign right after it says amended. correct?

thanks in advance.

You need more than just the W2,,,,you need to send in a copy of your entire income tax return....all documents....or the free IRS tax transcripts.

Do not black out anything. USCIS knows more about you than you even know.

I'm aware that recent tax returns must be submitted too. I just had a particular question regarding W2s only. thanks for responding

The sponsor filling out the form puts their full name there to indicate they acknowledge reading the liabilities in the instructions. See the image in this post showing the popup info box. > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/518969-i-134-is-a-confusing-form-help/?p=7296537

I will be attaching the required recent W-2 form to the I-134 Affidavit of Support form of which I will be submitting. My W-2 form has sensitive information such as my social security number (SSN), is it highly advisable that I "black-out" my SSN for the purpose of preventing identity theft in case my W-2 form gets lost and falls into the wrong hands? Will USCIS reject my I-134 with my W2 form if I black-out my SSN? Also, which filing copy of the W2 form do they require be submitted with the I-134, the Federal, State, City/Local copy or does it not matter?

USCIS is Department of Homelnd Security, who processes the petitions. The USEM is Department of State, who processes the visas.

I plan on blacking out my SSN on all documenta for the for the USEM interview.

Bad idea. Altering a document makes it invalid.

Yeah I agree, I don't alter this document. Trust that the government has everything on you already ;)
