If you won't acknowledge that the US Dollar remains the most desired currency in the world, then I don't know what to tell you since you won't accept even the most simple facts of life. How can it be the most desired currency in the world if we're supposedly in some severe fiscal crisis? The answer is that it couldn't. But since it obviously is, I would submit that the fiscal crisis you obsess about is less severe than you would like to believe. Not only that but the way you want to cure it would put this country into an economic tailspin making matters much, much worse. At the very least in the short and mid term.

The US Dollar may be the main currency in the world TODAY. It wont be for long if the Kenyan keeps running up more debt. Simple as that.

And what is going to replace the dollar? The Renminbi or the Ruble or perhaps the Mexican Peso.

Aren't you the one always going on about how great Europe is? Funny how you left that one out.

Europe is awesome. But their common currency is still in it infant years and has some way to yet to go. If there is a currency that can take the top spot down the road, it would probably be the Euro. That's more plausible, anyways, than any other currency out there from major economies. Bottom line is that the US Dollar will retain that leading role for many years to come. That is unless the Tea Party succeeds in its goal to damage and destroy the value that full faith and credit of the US government bestows upon the US Dollar.

we are not in a recession.

It's amazing how quickly the story changes, one moment Obama is destroying the growth and we need to cut spending, and next there is no recession?
