Copies or Originals to NVC?

Hi guys - did NVC change the requirements? On their website it says to submit photocopies of documents now instead of originals - has this changed or always been the case?

The applicant (and each family member immigrating with the applicant to the United States) must send to the NVC a copy of their original birth certificate issued by the official custodian of birth records in their country of birth, showing their date of birth, place of birth, and parentage. Important Notice: All Immigrant Visa applicants must submit a copy of a long form original birth certificate. Short form birth certificates will not be accepted.

Will photocopies suffice?

They changed it around a month ago or so. Just photocopies are sufficient in the IV package, but you'll be asked to furnish the originals at the consulate interview. Best of luck to both of you.

About photocopies... Look, on the same official page it says : originals or certified copies, not just copies.
