Foreign Police Certificate

As I said before... this is the Philippines forum. Here it is SOP to get a waiver for the UAE police certificate, don't care how it is done in the UK. As also said before, I will follow the DOS website, and no I don't care what it states on a foreign government website. When and IF the Department of State changes their statement is when I will post otherwise.

Unless you have information from a U.S. government website, in this case a website for the Department of State, to substantiate what you are saying, it means little to me.

LOL, err okay then...

I must have imagined obtaining my UAE police cert from outside the country, because the DOS says its not possible. Reminder to self, must do less meth :) gotta stop these hallucinations!

The fact that you did it is ... well... irrelevant. For USEM in the Philippines there is never an issue with NOT have a police certificate from UAE.

Seems that some people have been required to provide it in Phillipines (note that this was posted at a time when the website still said that it might be waived - but it was not in this case)

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/357392-interview-done-but-missing-dubai-police-clearance/

So if in doubt, obtain it, It can be done.

But in any case, original poster was asking about whether the expiry date on their Japanese police cert will matter - i was pointing out that it does not, so long as it was issued after residency ceased. So OP has nothing to worry about.

And if you read through the complete topic you will find this response from the embassy.

Here is the Email response I got from IVmanilareplies@State.Gov:

According to country-specific information on police records found at the State Department’s web site at http://travel.state.....html?cid=3698, police certificates are considered to be unavailable to applicants who no longer reside in United Arab Emirates and hence applicants are not expected to produce them.

Thank you all for the inputs! I tried to search my concerned regarding to what the US embassy might ask me by the time of my interview...and i found it on www.ustraveldocs.com and it says there that, applicant's for K1 must provide Police Clearance from the country where they lived or stayed for 6 months and up... i found on " country document finder" that Japan Police Clearance's validity is only 6 months from the date of issuance..that would mean for me to apply for new JPC at Japan embassy Manila....

Well that sucks, hopefully showing the old police certificate may speed things up for you.

So long as certificate was issued AFTER you stopped being resident there, then they will accept it (since you can't commit crimes if you weren't there). See eg last post here (by an immigration attorney)

http://www.immigration-information.com/forums/threads/nvc-f2a-case-completed.12743/

The certificate for your home country of course will expire.

You don't have to wait for NVC to mail your MNL #, you can call and email then (give enough time for the case file to ship from USCIS to NVC) to get the number.

My suggestion is to apply for the new police certificate, but keep moving forward with the interview process, even if you attend the interview with the old certificate (after all they might accept it), then if they request the new police certificate from Japan you are already ahead of the game and once it arrives you deliver it to 2GO and .... But it is possible they will accept the old police certificate... possible. You are out nothing to give it a try.
