Hi there!

I am in the US, and I am back to the visajourney. Now, it's not for me anymore but for my parents!

It's been awhile since I processed my NVC so I kinda forgot the process.

My parents have been aproved and I am waiting for NVC to send me the letter with the MNL case number and all that.

My question is that my mother have been to 3 different countries as Domestic helper. I understand she needs to get police clearances from each of those countries. Now to speed up the process, can I submit some of the documents needed in the NVC and submit the rest during the interview?? Or does she need to collect all of those police clearances before submitting the other available documents to the NVC (through me of course)? I am not so sure about that.

Hi! I got a checklist for not having some complete documents. I even asked NVC if I can just submit it during the interview date, but they said NO. Now I have to wait another 60 days to review my documents again. Hope this helps

Hi there!

If you have petitioned your parents, assuming that you are now a US Ctizen, it will take about 1-2 months for the approval. wait till it gets approved from the USCIS then they will send it to the NVC for visa processing. For the meantime you have to wait. Afte NVC receives it, you and your parents will be receiving a letter saying they received the papers from USCIS and this includes instructions. First, your beneficiary has to log online to choose agent (who they will send all the correspondents to) and they just have to choose you as the agent, that way all letters will be sent to you instead of routing it in the Philippines (as you know our post are not as reliable as the one we have here in the US). when they chose an agent, you will be notified to pay visa fees and affidavit of support. While these are going, feel free to gather documents to get ready for the next steps. when all your payments have been cleared, nvc will notify you to submit all documents. The recent update regarding documents, please double check this to the NVC website, they accept PHOTOCOPIES, but retain all original documents for your parents as they need to bring this to their interview.

Hope I answered your questions.

My parents' petition was approved on Dec.8,2014 and I got the official NOA from them on Dec. 12. So, yours might be on its way. I am also waiting for the notice coming from NVC. We're basically on same page now. Let's keep in touch!

Hi, my Brother who is a US Citizen has filed 1-130 form(without I 485) for my mother while she is in US on B1/B2 visa. Her return flight is on January 8, 2015. Can she extend her stay if I-130 gets approved? Do we need to do anything/inform anywhere that she is extending her stay because her I-130 got approved. We are planning to file I-485 alongwith the affidavit of support once I-130 gets approved but not sure if my mother can extend her stay or if she needs to come back to India if a) I-130 gets approved b) decision on I-130 is still pending

Well, for the IR-5 under "Petitioner documents" it says about originals http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Supporting_documents.html

Have you submitted AOS along with the docs for DS-260 (filled out on-line)? Or you've submitted AOS first, got response on AOS and then submitted DS-260's docs?
